Atom I.T. Repairs is seeking to recruit two individuals for a junior technical role within our repair and service team.
The working arrangement will be considered according to each candidate’s availability, suitability, current level of experience, and development needs.
This is a technical-first position intended for applicants who want to begin or develop a career in computer and electronic device repair. The successful candidates will receive practical guidance while assisting with real workshop operations and gradually developing the knowledge, confidence, and responsibility expected of a capable technician.
Although technical work is the primary focus, our repair process involves more than working on devices. All team members must understand how a repair progresses from the customer’s initial enquiry through inspection, diagnosis, approval, repair, testing, documentation, and final handover.
For this reason, front-desk and customer care responsibilities form an important part of the position and the candidates’ overall development.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will assist with day-to-day technical work involving computers, laptops, phones, tablets, and other electronic devices.
Initial duties will be performed under guidance. As candidates demonstrate care, reliability, technical understanding, and consistent results, they will be expected to complete more tasks independently and take greater responsibility throughout the repair process.
Candidates will also spend time supporting front-desk operations. This is necessary to develop an understanding of customer concerns, accurate fault reporting, repair documentation, service expectations, and professional communication.
The balance between workshop and customer-facing duties may vary according to training requirements and the daily needs of the business.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous professional repair experience is not essential.
Applicants at apprentice level, recent graduates, and candidates who have developed their knowledge independently will be considered. However, candidates should already understand the basics and must be able to demonstrate a genuine technical interest and the ability to learn.
Applicants who are currently below the expected junior standard may still be considered if they demonstrate sufficient potential, commitment, practical ability, and willingness to progress.
Relevant technical courses or qualifications are considered an advantage but are not a requirement.
What We Are Looking For
We are not expecting candidates to know everything from the beginning. We are looking for people who:
-
Show genuine curiosity about how devices work.
-
Attempt to understand faults rather than immediately giving up.
-
Work carefully and respect customer property.
-
Ask sensible questions and apply what they learn.
-
Take responsibility for their work and mistakes.
-
Communicate honestly when they do not know something.
-
Are comfortable dealing with both devices and people.

Training and Development
The successful candidates will receive practical guidance across relevant areas of the repair and service process.

Operating-system and software-related work.

Candidates who demonstrate ability, commitment, and long-term potential may be given opportunities to develop into more specialised technical areas.
Any future investment in external training, manufacturer programmes, or professional certification would depend on performance, suitability, business requirements, and continued employment.

This opportunity is intended to provide a genuine starting point for a technical career. However, progression will depend on the candidate’s effort and results.
Over time, successful candidates will be expected to:
-
Require less supervision for familiar tasks.

Diagnose common faults more confidently.
-
Complete standard work accurately and efficiently.
-
Maintain proper technical and service records.
-
Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
-
Take responsibility for assigned repairs.
-
Develop towards the standard required of an independent technician.
Working Arrangements
The exact employment arrangement and working schedule will be discussed with suitable candidates during the recruitment process.
Full-time and part-time arrangements may be considered depending on the applicant’s availability, practical ability, development needs, and the requirements of the business.
Any agreed schedule will fall within our normal operating hours:
